Practitioner of The Dyslexia Guild Assessor of Access Arrangements (PDG3A)

Practitioner members hold the Guild designatory letters PDG3A (Practitioner of The Dyslexia Guild Assessor of Access Arrangements).  Practitioners will commit to the Dyslexia Guild Code of Practice and will have met the following criteria.

Educational Experience

Will have:

  • a thorough understanding of the current edition of the JCQ document Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments and the principles, procedures and accountabilities involved
  • be familiar with the Equality Act 2010 (although it is not their role to determine what is a ‘reasonable adjustment’, but rather to help identify access arrangements that might assist the candidate in examinations and assessments and are thus potentially reasonable adjustments)
  • either hold an appropriate qualification to teach and make recommendations or secondary aged or adult learners who have learning difficulties in line with JCQ regulations (section 7).

Equivalence of the JCQ criteria

  • The JCQ publishes criteria that must be met if you wish to be an access arrangements assessor. 

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Have shown evidence of an ongoing commitment to their personal professional development through recent and relevant CPD.
